My heart was racing as I read this!! How DARE HE INTRUDE IN YOUR LIFE PERSONAL SPACE!! It is very true that people have no respect for other people’s lives anymore.
Every since I’ve been subscribed to you .. I’ve always been cheering for your health and safety. I became really concerned when you said what state you lived in…. Oh how I wish you would have said … you lived on the east coast instead of naming the state 😞. People can become very sickly obsessed with people and try to track them down. It has happened to me. I have had 2 successful YouTube channels and a WOMAN became obsessed to the point she found my address and gave it out to the public!!!! When I return to YouTube I will be doing things so much differently.
THAT GUY was definitely up to something!! He knew you were at your spot and soon would enter or exit through that side door so he purposely blocked you in… sick creepo!!
If he wanted to ask something he should have done so by not crowding your space. I’m so upset at the audacity of people nowadays!! Just makes me sick!
I hope this encounter doesn’t keep you from van life.
Here’s another safety tip… when you’re filming in stores or building… film the ground going in and out because people will remember the buildings by what you show. Blurry addresses can’t stop a person from knowing your location if they can still see the building.
It’s sad we have to add all these barriers around our lives but if we don’t people will intrude 😒.
I totally agree with everything that you said. Also, for those that are saying that he may have just wanted to see the inside of her van, please remember this is her HOME, not just a van. I don't allow random people into my personal space and certainly not my home.
Ditto ditto! I really enjoy your “day in the life” postings. However, I agree . . . when you move away from your current state, avoid disclosing your state and city especially if you plan to stay put for weeks and months. Some YouTuber Van Lifers only post with identifying locations LONG after they have moved on to their next destination. Finally, continue to use your military training and Always follow your gut. Looking forward to your next adventures.
Hi. So glad you’re ok. Just a FYI, my husband and I always say … I’m sad whenever we finish our coffee. That’s because of you! So you should sale some merch (coffee mug) that says “ I’m not sad that I’m alone, I’m sad my food is gone”. You’re welcome 😉
Thanks for sharing this experience. It's a reminder to always be on guard! I truly enjoy your story! Living vicariously through you! Praying for you to always be safe!
Totally agree! We don't have a van, but we just purchased dash cam's with front & rear cameras for our vehicles. Too much happening even in every day work commuting.
OMG I'm so sorry this happened to you. I would've moved the same way you did. There is no need to wait & see if somebody going to do something to you. He showed you everything you needed to know in them 1st 10 mins. Always Always trust your gut! Forget about them people talking about he may have wanted to ask you questions hell he could Google the make & model & get all the info he need...F@$k that! I'm glad you was able to get away & you're safe. I think it's time to strap up!
If you can, get some Ring cameras and remember when in doubt, drive towards the police station, this might deter them. Also activate your van alarm, if parked so that it will draw attention to the area. So glad you made it out safely. Never can be too careful. That was scary!
OMG girl!!!! I'm so glad you reacted the way you did. I pray for your safety because you are only trying to live your best life. People can be and are dangerous these days. Indeed, don't go back to that store. Did you finish getting your van secured? I pray that you have done that.
I’m glad you are ok and I’m also glad you’re sharing this because it may make someone think twice if they’re ever in a similar situation. I’m like you I keep my guard up. I worked as a correctional officer for 6 years and I know evil truly does exist. It’s unfortunate but this is the world we live in today smh.
There was a woman following me in the grocery store on Sunday. She kept lingering near me, then going away and coming back. She was giving me the heebie jeebies so I kept an eye on her. She also kept leaving the store and coming back in. I mentioned this to my husband once we got home. He said he didn't notice. I said to him, that while he is observant, I as a woman, and a Black woman have been trained all my life to be hyper-observant of my surroundings.
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I'm so glad that you were not accosted and you didn't crash your van. Creeps abound out all over. 🐢
Gasp...!!😲 I am so glad you got outta there! Definitely ALWAYS trust your instinct! You did the right thing. Thanks for sharing your stories. Continue to be safe out there, Nomadic Introvert!!💙
(No juice or snacks this time...but I did have hot tea while reading this! 😊☕️ I love the newsletters!💙)
I salute you for thinking your way out of that situation.
This would also be a good time to brain storm other ways you could have handled this particular situation while it's still fresh on your mind......just food for thought.
Yes you need a fog horn or something to call attention to your van. Not a typical car alarm 🚨 sound because we have all been programmed to ignore them . Glad you were hyper vigilant and I’m assuming ready to defend with some heat if it came down to it.
It good that you paid attention to your instinct and was able to get away safely. He actions were very suspicious and I would have done the same. I pray you have multiple items to protect yourself. Prayers for safety as you travel and live in your van. 🥰

Red truck guy was out of line. Simple as that.
Your response is SPOT ON people can be weird and out of sorts to say the lease,

I love it!
Setting off your Van Alarm would have been a safe move to draw attention to him plus a call to the police would also be a deterrent.
Some of my family who were in the service carry a weapon for personal security.
